Casting

 Before casting, our group decided on a set of physical characteristics the actors who will play the roles of Billy and Jack must posses.

Billy

Billy is a young male, who will be dressed a typical in typical school uniform (shirt and tie), because of the connotations this has (innocence, youth, vulnerability). He should also have innocent respectful mannerisms along with  a number of physical characteristics  

These characteristics include:

• Male
• Young (under 22)
• Youthful looks (around the age of 16)
• Small and slender build 
• Smart hair cut and clean shaven. 

After considering these points we had a number of candidates that we could potentially cast as Billy.

Dominic

He would be suitable because he matches almost all of the characteristics desired, he is of a small slender built,male with a smart hair cut and clean shaven. He would also be a good choice as he is available for filming anytime

Reiss

He would be suitable because he is also matches almost all the characteristics however he is not clean shaven, although this can easily be changed, they are not as available for film due to work restrictions 

Cain

He would be suitable because again he fits most of the characteristics but is of a larger build and so may be difficult to portray as a victim  

After consideration we have decided Dominic would most be most suitable to cast in the role of Billy. This is because he matches virtually all of the characteristics previously defined, but also is available for filming at anytime, and seems most enthusiastic about playing the role.

Jack

Jack is a young male, who will be dressed as a stereotypical london teenager. He will also be wearing a hoodie due to the connotations this has ( Urban criminal tendencies). Also he should have particularly rude and aggressive mannerisms, and certain physical characteristics. 

The characteristics include:

• Tall 
• Big build 
• Unshaven 
• Intimidating
• Ethnic origin. To play on stereotypes, to add to character development

After considering these points we had a number of candidates that we could potentially cast as Jack.

Josh: He would be suitable because again he fits most of the characteristic that match the role of Jack. Josh would suit the role of jack as he is the most available for filming 

Charlie: He is also suitable as he matches the physical characteristics, however he lives very far away from anyone so it would be very hard to film with ease. 

James: James is also suitable as he matches a few of the characteristics but he is not as big as the other candidates, and so would not be easy to portray him as an intimidating presence.  

After careful consideation we choose Josh to be most suitable for the role, as not only did he suit most of the characteristics the character of Jack should have, he also seemed the most confident and so best suited to the role. Josh is also of afro-caribbean origin and so will play on audience stereotypes.
