As the two main purposes of our short film is experimental and educational, we have a potentially a very large target audience. This is due to the experimental purpose of our project being aimed at virtually anybody in the world as we intend to upload it to a video sharing website (Youtube) and gauge audience feedback to our experimental mix of animation and real footage. However we intend to focus the poster on the educational aspect of the purpose of our short film.

The target audience for the educational side of the film is British teenagers between the ages of 13-19, as the is the age bracket of the youth whom attend school/college, where our film may be shown but also the demographic that are most involved either as victims or perpetrator of knife crime. Within this wider bracket the poster will target males as it is young males who are most involved in knife crime.

As our film is aimed primarily at males between the ages of 13-19 we are going to focus on the elements of the action genre of our film, over the other genres present e.g. social realism, as the action genre has a greater interest to teenage males than social realism. There are many possible ways we could communicate this, we could include a knife as a focal picture in our poster, but also via the use of contrasting colours e.g. a dark background against bright pictures.
